What is the BuzzBand?
In short: BuzzBand is an exercise motivator for youth with Autism.
If you want the full story:
In January 2021 Girls of Steel chose to participate in all three of the 2021 FIRST at Home Challenges for FIRST Robotics Competition teams. The BuzzBand emerged from the FIRST Innovation Challenge that prompted teams to find a problem in their community and design a solution. We were excited to be selected as one of the semi-finalists for the Innovation Challenge competition. Even though we didn’t move on in the FIRST Innovation Challenge competition, we continued our BuzzBand project as winners of a 2022 Lemelson-MIT InvenTeams grant! Check out all the winners here! Since then, we’ve solicited experts for feedback, continued to develop and revise the band, and attended local conferences.
